This is a lovely homely pub with a bar and games room one side and a restaurant and bar the other. The staff were cheerful and we were served quickly We had booked a table and as this was our first visit we read the menu and were very impressed at the variety of food on offer. There was something to suit everyone I would think, ranging from the classic pub type food like bangers and mash, fish and chips, lasagne, and pie as well as a range of grills, which did not just include the usual like steak and chips, but also a tandoori grill and b.b.q ribs . I chose from the speciality menu and had the poached halibut in a sweet chilli sauce and had chips And veg. It was really good. Cooked to perfection and tasty, my other half chose a mixed grill which was cooked exactly to his liking. There was a choice of homemade puddings which I could not manage as I had eaten too much already as the portions were very generous My husband had treacle sponge and custard which he said was very light and very nice. We will definitely be eating here again and would recommend it. Excellent as well as being good Value for money.

Review Left By : - Steve Renshaw on 3rd November 2008 We visited at the end of October and found the menu choices very tempting. The specials board, in particular, had some interesting options. We shared a starter between three and really enjoyed our mains. No room for puds - perhaps next time. The real ales we also on good form. Congratulations. Keep it up.

We’ve visited the White Hart on many occasions since the new owners took over and on every visit have produced delicious food. At times you would think you were in a city restaurant rather than a village pub with the food that they cook visit upon visit. The choice of food is enormous which always causing a stumbling block on what to order but with no doubt what ever you choose the result will be a mouth watering platefull of food. My favourite has to be the fish kebab with a thai sauce, delicious. My husbands favorite has to be the MIGHTY famous mixed grill, not for the faint hearted this dish simply would fufill the appetite of any meat feast eater!!!! But please take note save a little room for dessert, yet again delicious home made pudding’s we would definately recomend the cheesecake!!!! If you haven’t visited the White Hart yet I would highly reccomend this pub, you definately won’t be dissapointed! Keep up the good work!!

As a Nettleham lad born and bred it is nice to see The White Hart in good hands again.
We arrived for Sunday dinner as a typical family gathering with five adults and two children. There is plenty of parking available so that made for a nice easy start to the afternoon. Unfortunately we had only booked for a table of four originally but the restaurant staff were quick to rearrange some tables for us. We were served our drinks immediately and sat enjoying the open fire. As is the case with most under five year olds we only had about five minutes peace before they were ready for something to do. After confirming that our starters would be about another five minutes we took the children out to see the Beck and its resident ducks.
When we returned the starters were served. I had the homemade roasted red pepper soup which was excellent, further around the table the garlic mushrooms and pate were equally well received. For the main course I had the roast beef which was nothing short of perfect. Again the turkey was said to be “as good as it gets!” Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your outlook) the main course portions were so generous that none of us had any room left for desserts.
In summary then, great location, fantastic food, generous portions and very good value for money. Book me in for next Sunday! |
